Last year, during Lent, I was pregnant. By that time I had already given up a TON of indulgences. I couldn’t drink. I rarely had caffeine. I had gestational diabetes, so I had to really monitor/cut back on sugar and carbs. All the best things. Since I didn’t have much left to give up, I tried something new. I vowed to do more of something. I read the Bible every day. Most days it wasn’t a lot. But I think it really helped me be more aware. I saw myself praying and reflecting more, too. It was challenging. Which is the point of Lent. Challenge yourself for God.
Well, this year I’m going to up the challenge level. I am going to work out everyday. For 40 days. I am insane. The plan is simple: go to the gym and work out everyday. Except for the days when Avery has her swim lessons (8 days total). I just won’t have time to get to the gym those nights. I will be with her in the pool for lessons, then come home and work on the Wii Fit. sigh. This is going to be hard. But my thought is: document it here. Keep accountable. That’s the key.
Wish me luck everyone!
