Another weekend come and gone. Mondays after long, wonderful weekends are always hard. I hope you had a great Independence Day. I know I did!
The actual weekend was a little more subdued. Thankfully.
Saturday was my cousin Amy’s graduation party at the farm. It was hot. And nice to see everyone. Here is the only picture I managed to take.
Saturday night was pretty awful. Avery sucks at bedtime on a good night. And this was not a good night. Three hours and lots of screaming at the top of her little lungs. It was bad, people. We finally got silence at 11 freaking 30. ::fail 1::
Sunday started out pretty lazy. Then I got the bright idea that we should go pick strawberries. You know, stand in a field on a 90+ degree day. With a girl who won’t walk by herself. Memories, people. So I got a recommendation, looked up directions and off we go. Drive the 40ish minutes to the farm. And there is a sign “CLOSED TODAY.” W.T.F! Why are you closed on a weekend? Don’t you want my money?! ::fail 2::
Alright. We regroup. Go to REI for some tri supplies for Jeremy. Go home and have dinner.
After dinner my contact lens decided to try to kill me. I went to try and retrieve it and when I got it out, I saw it had ripped a chunk off. I have no idea if it is still in my eye or not. ::fail 3:: All I know is I started researching LASIK. And will be getting it done ASAP. New eyes before I turn 30!!
Then we thought it might be nice to go for a bike ride around Cleary Lake. It looks cloudy and getting darkish. But it was only 7pm, so we went for it.
Look at us all prepared!
We get to the lake. And look at the radar. A big blob was basically a block away from where we were. ::fail 4::
We head home. Stop at Culver’s. Because this is frustration only a Concrete Mixer can fix. ::win!::
We get home and it seems like no rain was to be had in the area. ::fail 5::
Even with all that, I still had a nice weekend. Warm weather, time spent with my family, and frozen custard.
