Hello Friends! Another weekend has come and gone. All too quickly, if you ask me. And since you’re here, you kinda did. : )
Friday was softball night. Avery and I went because 1: the game started before bedtime and 2: it was a nice evening. Or started out that way… I swear it rains every Friday night. At least this time it only rained for 10 minutes. But enough to soak us.
Saturday was really lazy. I went into the library to do some research for work. I felt like I was in college again. Which might have been the last time I was at the library. My research involved looking at a bunch of magazines. My job rules.
Later that evening Avery and I met up with one of my friends to walk around Lake Cleary. It was such a beautiful evening. Until we hit the wall of mosquitoes. Gross. And, of course, we didn’t have any bug spray. I ended up with two lovely clusters of bites. Hellllo summertime!
Saturday night was a rough one. Avery got sick at bedtime (always at bedtime). No fever, but we think she’s teething again. Joy. So she and I hopped in the shower to clean off. She cheered up after that. But kept getting sick through the night. She and I slept on the couch. She slept, I was up all night. Thankfully, Jeremy took over at 5am so I could get some rest.
Sunday the two of them came and woke me up around 10am. Avery seemed like her usual cheerful self. So that is a relief. But confusing. I will take the happy healthy baby without question.
Sunday afternoon we dropped the kid off with my mom and hightailed it out of there for an afternoon with friends!
It was Pride weekend in the Twin Cities, so there were a lot of events in Minneapolis. So lots of people everywhere. We headed to Lake Calhoun. We set up a picnic blanket and played some Cards Against Humanities. Here was the view.
Fun was had by all.
Then we all walked over to the Food Truck Fair. And stuffed our faces.
First stop was the Blue Door Pub’s tent. For a Blucy and a Juicy Lucy. Seriously good.
Then we turned the corner and saw this:
We navigated the crowds to find more food. We waited longer then any reasonable person should, but we made it to the front of the line!
More delicious food consumed. Plus I got to take some cute pictures with my friend, Jen.
Here’s to another quick work week!!
