So I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve posted. When really? I think it’s just been a few days. Lots of reasons for this. Mainly, I have had a bad attitude. Ask my husband. If he knows what’s good for him, he will disagree. But I’ve been in a downward funk. I’m going to blame the cold weather. I’m also blaming the weather on my extreme laziness. That’s my other excuse for not blogging. Laziness.
Those are also my main excuses for not reading this month’s book club selection. Which bums me out. I’m skipping the meeting tonight because I didn’t get my ish together enough to read the book. Fail.
Okay, enough of my grumpiness. On to some other stuff! This weekend we transitioned Avery out of her crib into a twin bed. Completely bypassing the toddler bed. Which made me nervous. A twin bed is about 30 times bigger the a toddler bed. But the twin bed was free. So that wins.
The most annoying part of the transition, so far, has been trying to find bedding. Sheets, as you can see were easy. But a comforter/quilt? For less than $70? Not happening. I have a hard enough time spending that much for my own bedding. Let alone for someone who doesn’t even like going to bed. You would think at least Target would have something! Not so much. The search will continue. In the meantime, she is using a random fleece blanket. It works.
Saturday night was the first in the new bed. It took 2 hours of me laying with her to get to sleep. But she stayed in the bed all night! She only woke up a couple of times and went back to sleep quickly. Plus, no falling out!
Sunday was better. She only took about 20 minutes to fall asleep.
Last night, she was a little more stubborn. It took about an hour. But I’m hoping that things will just keep improving. She is learning that we are not giving in and taking her out of the bed. And I have my bed back!
If you know of any stores with reasonably priced bedding, let me know.
