You guys. I did it! I met allllll my fundraising goals for the St. Jude’s Give Thanks Walk. Woo Hoo!!
But let’s back up and let me tell you about my Friday. I went into work for a few hours. I think it was the first time I was in the office in a couple of weeks. It felt kinda weird driving there. I kept wondering if I was going the right way. Haha.
On my way home, I had to stop and drop some product off at our packing company. That took like 4 minutes and then I was on my way. Until I wasn’t. My car started making a weird, loud noise. And then decided that steering wasn’t high on the priority list. I was able to pull off an exit ramp and immediately started to cry. I am such a girl. I called my husband to see if he could come rescue me.
Thankfully while I was waiting the car was still running. So I was able to stay warm. But that was the weird part too. No weird check this or that light came on. And no weird noises while I sat there. So I played around on my phone. And was dreaming about my Chinese leftovers waiting for me at home. I didn’t have a chance to eat lunch yet. But I did find some leftover Halloween candy in my purse. Score!
So it turns out it was just a flat tire. Which is good. But I felt dumb for not realizing it. And apparently we bought really crappy tires or I am a horrible driver. Because we have had 3 plus flats in the last 7 or 8 months. Annoying!
Saturday we were up bright and early to do the St Jude’s walk! It was at Target Field. So nice and open. And 4 degrees. Not including the wind chill. Brrrr. We all bundled up. Layers, down coats, multiple hats. They had some heat lamps going, but It was still freezing. It was a really fun atmosphere though! It was like a big carnival in the concourses.
Santa was there. Avery loved the cheerleaders who were doing a little routine. Maybe it was their shiny pom poms, but she was loving it. But, just like her mom, Avery loved TC Bear the most. We took a picture with him. And she was not happy when he left! She would have followed him around the stadium if we let her. And I think that marked the beginning of her meltdown that caused us to leave early.
It was so nice to get together with some MN Bloggers! And getting out of the house for a good cause. Head over to Dawn’s blog and see more pictures and read a proper recap of the event! I especially like the picture where I’m basically shoving Avery into the picture. 🙂
The rest of the weekend was spent trying to stay warm. So not doing anything exciting!
Hope you all had a great weekend.
