Christmas. I loved it. And now I’m so glad its over. And I can hopefully have my life back.
I had so many good intentions for this season. From all these wonderful posts about Christmas’ past and traditions (which all stay in my head. I should have asked Santa for a blog planner!) to making some gifts, and taking a Christmas lights tour. And then my morning sickness came back and kicked my ass. And all I wanted to do is lay down on the couch. And that doesn’t work too well with a crazy toddler running around. Sigh. Maybe next year.
Most things got done on Christmas Eve. I finished the Christmas cards. I wrapped the last gift. I got to shower. A Christmas miracle!
We went to a new church for the Christmas Ever service (it’s a whole thing. Maybe I will write about our search for a church sometime. But you know how I like to make posts in my head…) and Avery was mostly great. Stickers helped.
I was able to get an okay picture of Avery in her Christmas dress. She is running away. Like usual.
We came home and did our traditional fondue dinner. Complete with sparkling cider. Yum! We ruined Santa’s cookies. Good thing Avery doesn’t get it yet. We will have to step up our game for next year.
Christmas morning I woke up at 5:30 am and could not get back to sleep. So dumb. Everyone else eventually got up and we opened presents. Avery loved all her gifts. It was so fun to see her get so excited!
Then we went over to my parents’ house for brunch in our jammies. There were about a million presents crammed under their tree. The kids loved everything and Sam and Avery took turns stealing each others stuff.
A great few days. But I am so excited to relax and not have anywhere to be!
I hope you all had a great time with family or friends!
