As I’ve mentioned before, one of my best friends is having a baby in April. This weekend we threw her a baby shower!
Kirsten loves cupcakes, so this was the perfect theme for her shower!
I saw a pin on Pinterest for making baby onsie cupcakes and I tried my hand at making them. They were ridiculously easy and adorable.
And from here on out, I’m a bad blogger. I only took about 6 pictures! And none of the mama-to-be! I was so busy running around, that I rarely thought about my camera/phone. So I will do my best to describe the shower.
We had a couple of games planned. One game was a Name That Baby Tune. My good friend and co-host Elizabeth was in charge of the songs. It was fun to hear what she chose. Many oldies with “Mother Lover” and “Push It” mixed it. Too funny listening to everyone’s reactions!
I planned a memory game. I put together about 25 baby related items and let everyone look at them for one minute. Then thy had one minute to write as many items as they could remember.
We also had a crafty activity. I bought some plain wooden blocks from Amazon for the guests to decorate. We had some markers, construction paper, stickers, and baby books from the thrift store for people to use on the blocks. And a ton of Mod Podge.
We have some really artistic and talented friends! They made some really cute blocks. None of which I got a picture of. Even the two I made that I was really proud of. Sad day.
But I did get my favorite block. Which was a group effort. And hilarious to come up with the “animals.”
I’m only half sorry for how screwed up this kid will be. And I want a fishür. The other three sides of the block were slightly terrifying.
It was a really fun afternoon and I’m glad we had such a great turnout.
Some of you bloggers are so good at documenting everything! Do you have any tips for me? I want to find a nice balance of being in the moment and being able to document it. Possible or no?
