This past weekend we took the girls to see our Santa. He really is ours. I will follow this guy anywhere. I wrote about the debacle of last year. Keep in mind, this was before my meds.
Avery has been begging to wear her Christmas dress since we brought it home. Sparkly. Red. She’s obsessed with the thing. So I promised her she could wear it to see Santa.
What I failed to realize is that neither kid had dressy shoes that fit. And Callie doesn’t even have a pair of shoes. We lost one. She’s been wearing her winter boots everywhere. Even though there is no snow. Oh, the plight of the second born. So Avery got to wear her Doc McStuffin’s shoes and Callie wore some black shoes 4 sizes too big. Seriously.
We get there and, thankfully the line was short. Avery was singing loudly and Callie was trying to touch everything. The usual.
When it was our turn Santa said, “Hi Avery! I’m so glad you came to see me! Did you bring Callie?” (See, I told you I know him.) Avery’s eyes lit up. She felt so special that Santa knew her name. She went and sat right with him, ready for her pictures!
Callie on the other hand… not so much a fan this year.
She made that sad pouty face for almost 5 minutes before she actually cried! So cute.
Avery told Santa she wants a MLP Equestria Doll. News to us. And Callie wants chocolate. Which is pretty accurate.
