Our first night in Arizona was good. Avery had her own air mattress to sleep on. Which was a big hit. And Jeremy, Callie, and I had a nice king bed. I was in heaven. I think this trip may have helped convince Jeremy of the benefits of a king bed. Fingers crossed!!
Our first morning was a fun one. Avery and Callie got to explore the backyard at Nancy’s house. It’s all gravely rocks, but there is a lot of space. Plus a few cacti for Callie to try to touch. And a lemon tree and an orange tree. So exciting for the girls!
We decided on a low-key adjustment day. Spent the morning hanging around the house. Then we ventured out in the afternoon. First stop: Dunkin Donuts. I’m obsessed with their iced coffee. Twin Cities, let’s get it together and open a few of these. Okay?
We headed to the local library because we heard they just revamped their kids area. And there was a playground next door.
The library was great! So many books. So many activities. Puppets, train tables, blocks. Pretty much just like school. It was nice for the girls to have all those toys to play with, since there weren’t a ton to choose from back at the house.
We let Avery pick out a couple of movies and CDs to listen to in the car. A decision we would later regret. Ha!
Then we walked over to the park. The main part was a large structure with a ton of things to climb on. And some balancing equipment too. But there was a small area for younger kids. Avery and Callie had fun running around. And I had fun not wearing a winter coat!
