Last week we fled the Minnesota snow and cold for some Arizona sun! Jeremy’s dad and his wife winter (it’s a verb too) just outside of Phoenix. And we were so excited to visit!
Our flight was leaving at 3:00 pm Sunday. When we woke up that morning Avery had a wheezy cough and fever. And she did not look good. Perfect.
So I took her to the clinic in Target. By the time we were seen, she was feeling better and her cough sounded normal. Why do kids always do this?? She got checked out and turns out she had an ear infection. We got a prescription filled and a look of sympathy when the pharmacist heard we were flying that afternoon. I was the envy of no one.
But, chin up. We had a meeting with an airplane. And dammit, we were going to survive the whole ordeal. Because that’s all you can hope for when flying with two little kids!
We got to the airport and got checked in and found our gate. Which had iPads at every seat. Avery was in heaven. Then a couple of kids came over by us. The little girl said to Avery, “I like your shirt.” Avery had on her Rapunzel shirt and the little girl had on an Elsa dress. And the two girls became BFFs.
The flight was thankfully uneventful. The girls both had a little ear trouble when we were landing. But that’s it. Two rock star fliers.
We took a shuttle to the rental car place. Which Avery will still list as her favorite thing we did in Arizona. Ride the bus. I don’t get her.
We made it to Guppy and Nancy’s for dinner, then went to bed. Such an exhausting day! But we did it!
I can’t wait to share all of our adventures with you this week!
