One of the more fun parts of my body acceptance journey is shopping for clothes I love. But that can also be the most frustrating thing too! There are about three plus size stores to shop at in the cities. And let me tell you, they are not cheap! We have a great selection of thrift stores in our area, but I have not had much luck finding cute clothes in my size.
Which is why I nearly jumped for joy when I learned there would be a consignment shop that only carries size 14 and up! And it was in the south metro! Woo Hoo!
Let me introduce you to Stacked Consignment.
Michele, the owner and brains behind the operation, invited me to come check out the store and write-up a post if I liked it. So I recruited Beth, my style guru and thrifting maven, to come with to help me put some cute outfits together.
The shop is located in Savage and was easy to find. A huge plus in my book! We walked in to an adorably decorated front room. I noticed the shoes right away. Obviously.
We met Michele, who was busy sorting a huge pile of clothes someone had just dropped off. She is adorable, funny, and super helpful. If you want to read a little about Michele and why she wanted to open the shop, there’s a great article here.
Beth went right to the racks and started pulling clothes. Because she’s a professional. My one request was a denim jacket. I have been searching for one for about 2 years. Or longer. I’m picky and didn’t want to spend the $80 on the one I found earlier this year. And Michele grabbed it for us. And it fit and was perfect. I love this store forever.
The first outfit we came up with was adorable! Perfect summertime look.
Loved the top. The skirt was a little short for my taste, but I really like how it looked. And I am really sad I didn’t buy these shoes. So much cute!
I didn’t write down any prices, because I’m not the professional, but I do remember thinking that everything was a really reasonable price. Even a couple of times being like, this is so cheap! Plus Michele is always running sales. Check out Stacked’s Facebook page to see all the sales and events.
The next outfit was a tiny bit out of my comfort zone. But Beth made me try it.
I love love love this dress. And I really debated buying it. And regret leaving it at the store. I hope she went to a loving home. The shoes are so fun and were really comfy too.
The Vest. I was hesitant to try the vest. Beth has one that she wears and looks great in. I’ve seen a few people look great in them. But I’ve seen far more look not awesome. And I was afraid I’d be in that category. But I really liked this one and it looked really good with this dress. So I might be changing my mind on denim vests.
Just wanted to show you the cute dressing room.
The next outfit is a great transition from summer to fall.
This shirt is a great color that can easily be worn into fall and even winter. The material was really comfy and breathable too. I love these capris and the slightly distressed look of them. I love the addition of the scarf to this outfit. The colors really look great with everything. There is a basket full of scarves at the counter. I had a har time choosing just one for this outfit. And the shoes are mine.
And my favorite outfit we created:
I just love everything about this outfit. The stripes. The red blazer. The shoes. All. Of. It.
And finally, my denim jacket:
It’s amazing. I didn’t pay an arm and a leg for it. And I can’t wait for cooler weather so I can wear it everyday.
I’m wearing it with my own dress. And Beth found this cute necklace that goes perfectly with it all. So I bought it immediately. I also came home with a tan belt that we didn’t get a picture of. Again, not a professional.
I am loving Stacked and can’t wait to go back and see what new items have come in! They are having a Grand Opening Party next weekend. Here is the event page with all the info. I will be there in the afternoon, ready to shop!
In short: Go here. Buy all the things. Look cute. Be prepared for tons of compliments.
